Our Pastor

 
The Reverend Dr. Jerome Smith has served in called ministry since 1986. He attended Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest for his M. Div. Degree and earned his D. Min. Degree from Drew School of Theology in Madison, New Jersey.
 
Jerome was the founding webmaster of the NCCUMC in 1995 and then became Director of Communications for the Southeastern Jurisdiction from 1996 to 2006 at Lake Junaluska. As Jurisdictional Communicator he won many awards in digital communications, including creating the unitedmethodist.org((http://unitedmethodist.org/) website.
 
He has served churches in the NCC from 2007 to now, having just served Saint Luke UMC in Laurinburg.
Jerome is married to Leona, they have 3 children and 1 grandson. Jerome comes from a family of pastors, including his Father, Grandfather, brother and daughter.
